Joe Morse studied Fine Arts at Ontario College of Art, but found a home in printmaking. He has always been as interested in the process of making images as in the product. While at college most of the materials he worked with were quite lethal. He sensitized inch thick aluminum so that it would pick up the grease in graphite pencils. Printmaking allowed for an incredible variety of solutions for one image.
Today, his powerful graphic images are still made with dangerous materials as solvents, oil and acrylic mix. An exhibiting artist, educator and illustrator, Joe has been recognized with over 150 international awards. He was recently included in Luerzer Archive's 200 Best Illustrators.
His illustration clients include, Major League Baseball, Nike, Universal Pictures, Target and major magazines and newspapers worldwide, including RollingStone, The Times of London, Esquire, GQ, and The New York Times. Joe Morse is Illustrator-in-Residence and Coordinator of the Bachelor Arts Illustration Program at Sheridan Institute.
